QNB Al Islami offers Qmiles for its Islamic credit card

• Islamic financial institutions in the Middle East continue to be innovative to attract more customers to their Shariah compliant products. QNB Al Islami, the Islamic branch of Qatar National Bank (QNB) collaborated with Qatar Airways to offer Qmiles, the airline’s loyalty  programme for the bank’s mastercard holders. Customers will get Qmiles points via card usage which can be redeemed to purchase or upgrade the Qatar Airways’ tickets.

QNB Al Islami, the Islamic branch of Qatar National Bank (QNB), announced that the QNB Al Islami MasterCard credit card now offers Qmiles for its users.

Qmiles are the reward miles offered by Qatar Airways’ award winning loyalty program. QNB Al Islami is the first Islamic bank to offer Qmiles to its credit card holders.

The QNB Al Islami MasterCard credit card comes in Gold and Standard options. Gold card owners will get one Qmile for every QR8 spent and Standard card owners will get one Qmile for every QR10 spent with the card. These Qmiles can then be redeemed to purchase or upgrade their Qatar Airways tickets.

The QNB Al Islami credit card was launched early this year to fulfill a growing demand for Islamic products and services. Through this Shari’a-compliant credit card, QNB Al Islami provides a convenient and easy payment option for its Islamic banking customers. The Islamic credit card holders only need to repay 10% of the outstanding amount each month.

QNB Al Islami is the first Islamic branch to be opened by a conventional bank in Qatar, and is dedicated to launching innovative Shari’a-compliant financial products and services that meet both individual and corporate needs. The Bank has a Shari’a Advisory Board consisting of eminent Islamic banking scholars including Sheikh Yousef Al Qardawi, Dr. Ali Qurah Daghi and Dr. Sultan Al Hashemi.
